Private Lessons at the Clay Courts
Take your game to the next level with private instruction on the red clay! Our experienced teaching pros are ready to sharpen your skills.
Private lesson bookings for the 2025 outdoor season will begin April 21st on the red clay. More information on the coaching staff will be posted soon. Weekly lesson players are tentatively scheduled to begin April 14. If court and weather conditions allow, online bookings will become available for this additional week.
If you do not have a profile with RTA, please Create an Account before booking a lesson, otherwise your booking will not be considered valid. You must leave a credit card on file that will be charged prior to your lesson.

Semiprivate (4 Players) $185/hr
- Private lessons are only bookable by the hour. All listed prices are total, not per player. If you wish to have a longer session, you may book two hours back to back.
- Weekly lessons for 9 weeks or more are available between 11am and 4pm on weekdays. Email info@riversidetennis.org to inquire about scheduling a block lesson. Weekly lessons must be fully paid upfront and are subject to the same policies as hourly bookings.
- There is no “splitting time” between multiple players. Anyone joining any part of the lesson is considered a full participant and will be billed appropriately even if one or multiple players choose to sit out part of the time.
- For example, if two players book one lesson and choose to have instruction for 30 minutes each, the $125/hr two-player rate applies.
- Cancellation Policy: If you would like to cancel a private lesson, you must do so at least 48 hours in advance in order to be eligible for a refund or a credit. Our pros rely on lesson revenue to earn a livable wage.
- Rainout Policy: Please call the RCTA Hotline at (212) 978-0277 to check if the clay courts are open for lessons. If your lesson is rained out, you will receive a credit to your account, with you may choose to withdraw or apply to another purchase.
